I’ve longed to be the star of a viral video, but perhaps not like this. Eight teens are accused of planning an attack on a girl for the purposes of making a popular YouTube video.
Eight teenagers have been arrested on charges alleging they beat another teen in an “animalistic attack” so they could make a videotape to post on YouTube.
Seven of them remained in juvenile detention Tuesday, authorities said. A boy who was charged as an adult had been released on bail.
Victoria Lindsay was attacked on March 30 by six teenage girls when she arrived at a friend’s home, authorities said.
“It’s absolutely an animalistic attack,” Sheriff Grady Judd said Tuesday on NBC’s “Today.” “They lured her into the home for express purpose of filming the attack and posting it on the Internet.”
Well, say what you will about this being animalistic or crazy, but you have to admit that they know what’d get you attention on the Internet. Not only would I link to that video, I’d probably watch it and go, “HA HA…Internet.”
I’m not quite sure what made the attack animalistic though. I’m hoping it means they threw feces. Ooh that’d be fun! Someone get me a digital camera, stat. It’d be like a hybrid of Bum Fights and “2 Girls 1 Cup”. How could that not succeed?

First they beat her until she was unconscious. When she came to, they started again. Part of the second beating was taped.
Nine days after the beating, the girl still has not regained vision or hearing in her left side.
