Feb.01.2007 There are palm trees in Iraq?
I’ve always been against the war in Iraq, but I could never figure out why. I support our troops and admire the balls it takes to go overseas to fight for something that someone else thinks you should fight for. I’m also a fan of killing. But despite all that, the situation in Iraq bothered me. Is it the danger? The lack of rationale?
No, it’s none of that. Apparently these troops are on vacation. Look at those Palm Trees. Ooh that is so menacing. I thought we were fighting a war, not drinking daiquiris and listening to Margueritaville on a loop. Yeah I’m sure many of them are dying over there…dying of alcohol poisoning from all the crazy fun they’re having.
I may just be naive, but I can’t take anyone seriously as a threat when they have palm trees in their country. Did Soviet Russia have some palm trees hanging out? Did Japan? ABSOLUTELY NOT. You can’t be a villain in when you wear grass skirts and drink beverages with mini umbrellas in them under your palm trees. It just looks silly, regardless of how many turbans you have.
