Dec.05.2007 Dave Chappelle is talented
Much like the Kenyans whom he once took refuge with after running away from his Comedy Central contract, Dave Chappelle has proven himself to be a marathon man, setting a world record for longest set done by a comedian.

The 34-year-old funnyman returned to his old stomping grounds at Hollywood’s Laugh Factory Sunday and accomplished the feat for second time. Chappelle performed a 6-hour, 12-minute stand-up routine, breaking the record he set last April by five minutes.
“Dave was determined to keep his record because he recently heard that Dane Cook was planning on trying to break [his] record,” club owner Jamie Masada told the Associated Press.
Masada says that the Block Party emcee had plenty of new material for his latest endeavor, after extensive traveling of late, including a recent trip to Ecuador.
I don’t know what I’m more impressed by; that he was able to perform for six hours straight or that he was able to stay in one place for so long without running away to Africa. HA TOTALLY OOK THAT CHAPPELLE DOWN A PEG.
Seriously, I’m impressed by this act, way more than many other world records that involve people forming a human pyramid or some crap. I can barely stay awake for six hours straight, let alone perform and keep people engaged for that period of time. I’d probably just start hitting myself in the groin with objects in the hopes of getting a laugh. Perhaps with pies, since that way I could combine two proven tenets of comedy. It’s an art, really.
