Via MMAMania.com comes this heartfelt snippet in the Boston Herald yesterday. Looks like self-help guru Tony Robbins is lending a helping hand to a man in need…recovering UFC loser Chuck Liddell.

“I just got a call from Chuck Lidell. Chuck is finding himself in a position where he’s famous, because his sport has grown in popularity so rapidly. All of a sudden you have a posse and you’re going out to dinner before your fights and not working like you used to. He’s not as hungry as when he made it. We’re just starting the journey with him to find out what drives him,” [said Robbins].

If I were in Chuck Liddell’s shoes, I’d probably be driven primarily by my love of punching people in the face as well as my dislike for getting punched by in the face by people. But I do have a tendency to oversimplify life’s problems.

It’s hard not to respect Chuck Liddell for this decision to let someone help him though, and I’m not saying that because he could literally turn my face into a puddle of jello, though that’s also probably a determining factor. Sometimes, a man just needs to be told by another man that, hey, life’s going to be okay. Then he needs to be reassured that what they’re about to do isn’t gay. That’s what Tony Robbins does right? I may not be as in tune with self-help as I should be.
