Nov.08.2007 Dog the “County Hunter” has learned an important lesson
At this point, I think we all kind of get the drift with the Dog the Bounty Hunter thing. He’s a dumb guy who’s sort of racist, no real skin off of my back and not worth addressing countless times. But we need a wrap-up and, frankly, the AP story on this is far too great on several levels to not cover it.

You have to love the accompanying picture. If any picture says, “I’m totally not a racist,” it’s this one of him solemnly looking on from what looks like a Bob Ross painting.
First, the headline. “County hunter apologizes for using slur.” Nice. Who needs proof-reading?
“I thought that I was cool enough in the black world to be able to use that word as a brother to a brother,” he said. “I’m not. I didn’t know really know until three or four days ago what that meant to black people.”
“I now learned I’m not black at all,” Chapman said.
I’m surprised he’s not Black actually. I’m not sure what he saw that made him think he was. There tends not to be many black men that dress like failed professional wrestlers with feathered mullets. It’s a tendency, not a rule.
Chapman also said he is making a deal to be buried at a historic slave burial ground near George Washington’s Mount Vernon home.
“I want to be buried right where they’re at because I will never be forgiven as (long as) I’m alive,” Chapman said.
That’s pretty cool of him. What he didn’t say is the reason he wants to be buried next to them is because he believes that in the Afterlife, the rule of Finders/Keepers will allow him to take the slaves as his own. Dog’s a simple man with simple needs. For slaves. Black slaves, specifically.
