Season 5 of HBO’s oft-praised but perhaps ultimately unwatched drama The Wire, and the series as a whole, is about to come to an end this Sunday with a 90-minute finale. The reality is that every person, critic, whomever who talks about the show has told you a million times that it’s the greatest show on TV. But whatever, that’s all talk. Check out this clip of the greatest character ever on TV, Omar Little.

You have to love it. As good as any film portrayal, as good as any TV portrayal. Omar Little is the baddest man to ever exist on film.

It’s also nice to see a black character break out of the norm that black characters have on TV. It’s swell that TV likes to always represent the reality of all black men being doctors and dedicated fathers, but television is supposed to be an escape from reality dammit, so I want my black men to be criminals and thugs! Is it so much to ask for a little bit of fantasy? Jeez.
